Changes to all Facebook Business Pages

Changes to all Facebook Business Pages

As Facebook announced in a blog post last week, all Facebook Business Pages are being updated to a new, streamlined one-column design. The change will be rolled out automatically, and includes a more streamlined look to mimic what you see on mobile, some design updates, and a few new features. Here's what you can expect to see:Updated timeline designFacebook will finally ditch the two-column timeline design in favor of the one-column feed (the same as individual profiles). Before, posts would render differently on the page than they would in News Feeds - so moving to a one-column design changes that. Page posts will now display consistently both on the page and in users' News Feeds (fantastic news for businesses!)Whereas your business information was previously displayed at the top of your Facebook Page, it will now move to the left-side column. The left-side column of your timeline features information about your business, including a map, your hours of business, phone number and website URL, as well as photos and videos.

Timeline updates

Updated admin toolsFacebook have also added key information about the ads you're running, new likes on your page, and unread notifications and messages, all within the margins of the main view of your page (only visible to Page Admins). Facebook have also added new navigation options to the top of the page for activity, insights, settings, audience building, and help. The Build Audience tab will send you directly to your Ads Manager account.Pages to watchThe final feature in the redesigned pages is called Pages to Watch - you might have already seen this feature on your own Page, as Facebook tested the feature on a select number of pages over the past two months. This lets admins create a list of competitors and monitor how they compared to their own page's performance. You can monitor total page likes, new page likes, posts this week, and engagement this week. For more info on what the update means for your Page, or for help with your social media, contact us today.
