Visit Mandurah is the peak tourism body for Mandurah and the Peel region in Western Australia. Bang Digital was engaged to redesign and relaunch visitmandurah.com.au, the destination website powering every tourism campaign and the digital gateway for visitors planning a trip to Australia's Top Tourism Town (2023).

Visit Mandurah is the destination marketing organisation for Mandurah and the Peel region. The site is the primary call-to-action behind every tourism campaign and the planning hub for both domestic and international visitors.
The previous site, launched in 2020, was holding the brand back. Performance was slow, navigation overwhelmed users with 97 menu items, tour and experience listings were missing, and the experience for the 75% of users browsing on mobile was poor.
We started with rigorous discovery before touching design. 200 Australian participants took part in card sorting and tree testing so the new information architecture matched how visitors actually plan a trip, not how a tourism organisation traditionally categorises content.
That research reshaped the navigation around visitor intent: Things to do, Eat, drink & shop, Outdoor adventures, History, art & culture, and Accommodation. Task success rates jumped from 57% to 72%.
A fast, mobile-first destination platform built to inspire visitors and convert browsing into bookings.
Built on a headless Next.js front-end and WordPress back-end, deployed on Vercel's global edge network.

"The relaunch of the Visit Mandurah website was a complex and substantial project, and we are extremely pleased with the outcome. Bang Digital guided us through it with professionalism and creativity, transforming our online presence into a platform that truly reflects Mandurah's charm for both Australian and international visitors.
The site is fresh, modern, inclusive and accessible, while being genuinely engaging and helpful to plan a trip. We particularly value the custom content blocks, intuitive research-led navigation, and the ATDW-integrated headless CMS, which lets us manage content, events and business listings without sacrificing performance.
Since launch we have seen measurable results, including increased engagement, longer session times, and improved conversions for both local and international audiences."
