In Tadano Global migrated their country-specific websites to a single global site in order to increase management capabilities and SEO performance.
Our approach
Due to the impact of moving to a centralised site structure, SEO performance and stability were a core concern for the migration, as well as local rankings in each target country. Tadano had previously held top positions across Australia, Europe, North America and LATAM, and relies heavily on organic rankings to continue to drive leads and sales volume.
Bang Digital identified keywords and core pages across the target countries to focus on for the migration. As local rankings and languages were core to the migration, Bang developed the correct technical tagging structure to ensure the correct language pages appeared in the relevant geographies.
Our solution
Page rank and transferring Tadano's previous domain authority were required to maintain rankings across locations. Bang implemented a robust redirecting strategy in order to capture all previous pages and point them to the new domain, ensuring that no pages on previous domains resulted in 404s impacting both user experience and Google's ability to rank the website.
Both prior to the migration and post migration, Bang conducted technical audits across all website properties to ensure any potential technical issues were identified and fixed prior to the new site going live.
The results
- The migration went live in , with rankings for all branded terms maintaining 1st position in the weeks following the migration period.
- Rankings for key commercial terms in various geographies then began to see increases across November and early December by an average of 4.56 positions, largely attributed to an increase in domain authority and better technical SEO alignment.
